Before the "usual suspects" complain about "no politics in the forum!":D I was notified that baltic birch is going up as much as 40% due to the sanctions the govt is imposing.
Besides the fact that it invites retaliation from sources of products we import it also is an excuse for suppliers here to raise prices artificially on stock they already have.
That seems also true for natural resources when you hear the reason for the price hikes is "shortages in china",.... things that you can never verify.
It makes it very hard to compete when we have such a "braintrust" making decisions without thinking thru the unintended consequences.
So go stock up on material while you can....:eek:
