I recently finished construction of a 4'x4' machine using a wooden table and a PRS style gantry, Y car, and Z all made of 1" phenolic resin. (Trespa) All of the V- bearings are bolted into the phenolic, so there is no real continuity throughout the machine. I have a PRT control box and motors, and have had a lot of connection/electrical issues. I have ground wires on each steel rail, but I am concerned that is not enough. With a new 4G board on the way, I don't want to take any chances with that. Could I ground each motor with a spade connector on a socket cap screw? (motor frame) My ground wires go to the breaker box and a ground rod outside. I do not have dust collection at this time. Thanks for any suggestions.

Sure. You can create a ground network make sure you only ground the grounds and the control machine is on the same ground line to keep ground the same for all devices (no diff in potential). If your table is not part of that circuit you need to make sure you have that covered.
Good luck.

Thanks for the response Joe. I suppose I can't say for certain that my electrical problems stemmed from the phenolic. It most likely was due to the age of the equipment, and the fact that it sat dormant for 2 yrs until I decided to get back into it again. I am replacing all of the wago connectors with the new board, and I am in the process of trimming and cleaning up all of the wiring and grounds while waiting for the board to arrive. After reading the posts of everyone that has it, I can't wait! Thanks again.
