My old computer's hard drive failed today so I moved a newer old computer out to the shop to run the bot. The computer is running windows xp pro and the control software I have is 3.1.11.
I installed the software on the newer computer and opened up the program, but when I load a part file and try to run a preview I get the error message:
"run time error 76
path not found'
I can't find this error mentioned in the forum after searching.

Jim, did you get this figured out? That's a pretty old version that you're running there. the newer computer may not have something that the previewer is looking for (that version was probably using the old Cortana viewer), or possibly the file you're running is calling up another file that isn't where it says it is.
Might be a good time to update to the latest version for your control box.

I actually get that error message every time I install the current generation of software. I have reported it in the past but it's still there in the latest release.
In my case it comes up when clicking on the spindle control program menu to change settings.
I change several things to get it working each time but I never have the time to work out which one (if it is just one) that does the trick.
I went through the code looking for strings and there a lot of hard coded paths including some to paths that should really only be accessed via Windows environment variables.
Presumably it's something similar with the code in the older version.
