Hello again
I'm cutting a large sign using the tiled toolpath option
on the first tile my shopbot's router is failing mid vcarve, at %60 each time,
at the exact same line of code. i have tried editing the vectors and recalculating the toolpath but it fails at the same spot, same line of code.
anyone have any experience and found a solution? i'm extremely frustrated.

i've attached a picture of the screen and line of code where the router shuts down

Go over your wiring with a fine toothed comb. Shoddy connections or a broken/strained wire can make/break contact at the same area on the table.

Do a firmware update and see if that will work I helped someone else with this problem and they had changed their computer by adding ram and the controller was waiting for more code and the computer thought it had sent all,

James,
What version of SB 3.8 are you running? Some of the early versions of 3.8 had issues with double J3's during v-carve files and there were also various combinations of feed rates and ramp settings that would make this happen on a consistent basis. I had several files that would do the same thing.
If you haven't updated to the latest version (3.8.14), do that and then update the firmware for the control box also after installing the latest version with UI.

and to the rest that helped, thank you very much :)
It was a firmware issue Scott. It sounds like i was having the same problem you had.
Thanks to shopbot as well for updating your software lol

@SCOTT, I have stayed away from anything that said 3.8 and am still running 3.6 and am happy with it. Have all of the issues been resolved in 3.8? You know the old adage: If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Hi Rick,
It's gotten better with 3.8.12 and .14, but I still experience a few issues from time to time. Then again, I throw a lot of weird at it from time to time to try to break it. If you're happy running what you are and are having no issues and the newer features aren't of interest to you, then.....:)
There are some new additions with .14 where if you have a Z prox, you can recover from a loss of position quickly with C3. When you zero a tool, it will use the Z prox to find the offset and save it. When you do a C3, say in the morning after shutting down the night before, it will ask if you want to reset the Z to the last setting. Once done, your good to go. Helpful after a crash also. This does not work for breaking a bit or changing tools, just for resetting the tool currently in the spindle. While this is just new files for zeroing/homing, it could be done with any version as long as you set up the files and have a Z prox.
The buttons program is nice and works, but I don't really like the implementation of it, a bit quirky to set up. It has the barcode stuff in it when it would be better built in or as a separate Virtual tool.
There's other stuff in it so it's best to read the summary and update notes on the download page to see if it's something you want to try. Make sure your control card is supported also.
James, that version was one of the worst for this issue, at least for me.

Thanks Scott, I would have completely missed 3.8.14 upgrade without your note.
