Had a new problem yesterday. Our 2 Desktops had factory installed upper Z, and X,24 Y,18 prox switches installed. Yesterday had sent machine to radio button 5 (24,18) in the back corner. When I restarted I C3'd so it ran towards X0 and at about 12,18 It started a fairly violent stuttering with the associated loud noises. SPACEBAR!!! Moved off Y,18 and completed without problem. I would say my Y,18 prox has to be moved back some, but was wondering why 24,18 was good and why it hit the switch at 12,18. Am I out of square?
When Moving in Keypad mode Y,18 prox switch is hit at 18.143". In wheelchair and Desktop is butted up against wall so can't really see Y screw limits with mirror. Want to move Y limit switch back as far as I can safely. Will remove prox to move it. Can you tell me a safe Y position to move gantry to and then I will shut down and reglue OR If I go to Y,18 and then move by fixed increments to hard stop, how far back from the hard stop should I back off to be safe(and then shut down and reglue switch)?
Hope this makes sense, Gordon B. did initial install, and Nate Z. helped me reconfigure switches and identify a bad connection on X,24 prox in Sept '13, so they are familiar with. 2 other Y,18 prox Desktops had to have switch removed and reglued to run factory spoilboard surfacing routine without faulting.
Thanks, scott
