Hello! My name is Matt Green and I'm a new ShopBotter.
I've read this awesome tutorial: http://makezine.com/2012/04/13/cnc-panel-joinery-notebook/
And I've begun creating a storage cabinet in SketchUp where I'm making the round divots "by hand" in SketchUp.
Is there a way to get this done for me in Vcarve pro or some other software?
This is painfully slow.
Thanks!

In VCP under edit objects "create fillets". Is that what you're talking about? Thanks for link, good read and diagrams.

Matthew…
As Scott said, VCP has fillet options… the choices are: normal, Dog Bone, T-Bone and Plasma/Drag Knife. If you designed before these options were automatic, you were super excited when they became available!

That's exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! One more question... kinda related...
What diameter tool would you recommend for profiling furniture and cabinets? I'm feeling comfortable with a 1/4" bit but it sure would be nice to have a smaller diameter. Am I safe going down to a smaller bit for cutting plywood?
Thanks =)

Matthew…
It all comes down to speed. You can cut with a 1/32” bit if you go slow enough!
As for a plywood bit, You should really be using a compression bit and the smallest one I’m aware of is ¼”.

Centurian offers a 5mm compression that I've been using on 5/8" Appleply for drawer box parts. I also used it on a lettering job using 3/4" birch so I could get tighter corners. Worked very well.

Not sure about large production jobs but I have used 1/8" down cut bit first to a 1/4" depth and then changed to 1/8" upcut bit to finish through the 3/4" ply to get clean cut edges plus tightest radius......1/8" bit will give you a 1/16" dog bone fillet.....pretty good!
Cheers
