These are home made. I don't think they can be found on the market. Here's the way they are made.
With a 1/4" wood dowel apply a wad of cotton to the end. Over that the felt is applied and tied down. Most everyone now uses duck tape to hold it together.
The process is best done when the gold is first applied to the size. That is while the varnish is still soft. It takes almost no pressure. It's deliclate and can ruin a good gold job.
