I am working on a file that has a frame around the edge and then I pocketed out the inside .25 deep then imported a textured file that came with aspire. I for some reason cannot get the texture to lay down .25 onto the pocketed cutout. I know this is just a click from being fixed , but I just cant seem to find that click.
Thanks in advance cause someone is always there to straighten me up!!!
start depth .25 cut depth...

Perry, if I understand you right, you will have a vector around the inside of your frame. Do not pocket this. Bring your texture model into the frame and adjust to fit your vector. When you go to the toolpath side, in the Material Setup section hi-lite your texture model and use the slider to adjust the Gap Above Model as you want and then do your toolpath. I would choose the Boundary Vector Offset option with at least the radius of your bit and maybe a little more if it is a tapered ball nose. An inside vector like this would have a negative offset, then hit calculate and see how it looks....joe

I just made his <3 min vid. It is very brief and to the point. It doesn't have my usual flourish. Is this close to helping you?

Yopu could also use merge vs add for the texture. I forgot in the vid.

You're welcome, Perry. Just keep studying and it will come to you. Aspire is a very "user friendly" program with lots of help on this and the Vectric forum, but it is still an artistic program, so if you have some imagination (which you sound like you do), then most of the battle is won...joe

Answered PM. Do not hesitate to ask questions and we will be glad to help. :D
As an aside: Remember that Vectric has some butt kicking tutorials. As you use your machine go back and check some of those out again. As we learn more we are in a 'different place' and more info become assimilated. :)
