Upcut Spiral O flute for plastic vs aluminum?

Hello everyone,

Trying to figure out if there is a difference between major manufacturer's upcut spiral o flute end mills. The ones I have(Nap Gladu) say they are for hard plastics, but look identical to those designed for aluminum. Am I missing something? Thanks, Marc

There are slight differences in the grind between AL & plastic O-bits. However, I doubt that you will see any real difference while cutting using either bit in either material. This is only for single flute spiral-O cutters. 2 & 3 flute ones are for plastic only - usually sold as a 'finisher'.

Thanks Brady! Maybe I will reserve certain bits for each material, as wear may be expedited in aluminum.
