Introduction and overview of the new features added to Aspire 4.5 and VCarve Pro 7.5

In this presentation Sara, from the Vectric office will provide an overview of using and installing Gadgets and demonstrate the time saving features in some of the newer Gadgets.

13:00 – 14:00 Layered Sign Example – James Booth
A 3D effect can be easily created by layering separate 2D/2.5D pieces to make a dimensional sign. For this project we’ll show you how to draw the parts for a sign design and discuss the best ways to toolpath them to make the finished part.

14:30 – 15:30 Cutting and Finishing - Tim Merrill
Expert Vectric user Tim Merrill will work with some of the projects being shown at the meeting to discuss ideas for material selection and preparation, practical ways to setup effective toolpaths and tips and tricks on finishing.

16:00 – 17:00+ Tips & Techniques - Questions from the floor - James Booth
This session will cover a miscellaneous selection of techniques and ideas for use in different areas of Aspire. We’ll also deal with any questions that have come up during the breaks.

Two sided machining is a very powerful and surprisingly easy technique on a CNC. Many people do not try it though as they think it’s more complex than it actually is. In this example we’ll draw and model an elegant dish with stand and show how to cut these as a two-sided job.

09:15 – 10:45 Assembling and Editing Clipart – Rebecca (Beki) Jeremy
Being able to re-use your models is a powerful feature of Aspire, whether its clip art, your own creations or purchased models. In this session Beki, who creates and edits artwork for Vector Art 3D will look at best-practice for laying out, editing and manipulating existing models to make new designs.

11:15 – 12:45 Practical Modeling - Michael Mezalick
Michael Mezalick will explore some of his favourite modeling features in Aspire showing how these have been utilized in projects produced for his clients.

Michael Tyler who creates the Vectric Projects of the Month will highlight some unexpected and innovative ways to use the modeling tools in Aspire.
