I'm starting to consider the potential value of a vinyl cutter for 2 aspects of our business.
1) for cutting paint mask and perhaps for sand blasting.
2) to add vinyl sign capacity or banners to our mix.
I realize sand blast material requires a more robust cutter but assume the added capability is worth it.
I know you'll ask for my budget so I guess I'm thinking about something with 30" cut width and hope to spend under $2,500.00 for cutter and software as a starting investment to see if I can make any $ at it.

For those who are knowlegeable or familiar with this aspect of sign making what would you recommend as a "testing the water" start up set up?

I would go with a Graphtec. That is what we use in the field & they are VERY reliable. ours are 15", but the wider the better. They work from illustrator with a plugin (like a printer driver), so, it could not be easierto get to know. They even will read registration marks to cut printed graphics. Ordway sign (signsupply.com) is a great place to look at the opotions..
