I've been wrecking those Lowe's Kobalt mechanic's gloves at a ridiculous pace.
I try to wear gloves all the time when I'm in the shop, just because I get tired of splinters and neosporin and bandaids.
Being that you guys do the same thing as I do, I figured you'd be the best to ask.
What kind of gloves do you seem to get your money's worth out of?
Any stand out at all?

I use Enviro Safety Products and order the rubber coated knitted gloves (http://www.envirosafetyproducts.com/flex-tuff-ii-latex-coated-knit-glove.html). I buy them 10 pairs at a time and they last me about 3 months.

I like the mechanix brand but I go through at least one to two pairs a month. I find anything longer lasting feels too bulky and I can't work with them on.

I buy the ones from Harbor Freight, cheap enough and work and last pretty well.

I tried the ones at Harbor Freight, Tom. They didn't woirk out, but it was just because they didn't fit right. At half the price of the Lowe's ones, I'm sure they'd be a better value.

I used to wear deer leather tig welding gloves all the time. They lasted forever. I could pick up a paperclip off the floor with them on. Couldn't get them wet even once or they twisted all out of shape.

The knitted gloves might be an option for handling wood and stuff. I'd just need to take them off when I'm at my desk. I have some rubber palmed mechanix gloves, but they're awful. Good for washing the car or playing in mud, but that's it.

I found Tillman Gloves and put a few pair in my wish list to try out. They have some nice ones in goatskin and their mechanics gloves look decent. The 1490, 1470, and 1414 (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=tillman+gloves&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Atillman+gloves) look like they may work. The 1480's (http://www.amazon.com/Tillman-1480XL-TrueFit-Deerskin-PERFORMANCE/dp/B000J43NOC/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1403356359&sr=8-7&keywords=tillman+gloves+deerskin)are deerskin mechanic's gloves. They look nice.
I ordered a pair of 1414's, they were only 12 bucks shipped. Worth a try, I figure.

I wonder if anyone makes a decent pair of mechanic's gloves?

Try FastCap's Skinz gloves.

Harbor freight has leather anti vibe gel gloves I like, they get used when I use hand power tools more than material handling to prevent nerve damage especially using a chainsaw for hours at a time.
