I need one with a pretty long CEL like the Onsrud 52-200B DE Solid Carbide Upcut Spiral Ball Nose from this site:

http://www.ballewsawandtool.com/shop/aluminum/onsrud-52-200b-de-solid-carbide-upcut-spiral-ball-nose.html

I am cutting 3D models of MDF, spruce and maple with both concave and convex surfaces and need 1" and even 1.5" CEL at times.

I am looking for a router bit somewhat less than the price advertised here.

Anybody ?

Brett, try Ebay, I've gotten a few 1/2 in ball with 3 in cut length very innexpensively. I usually see some on there most of the time.

Brett,
www.mscdirect.com (http://www.mscdirect.com)
They are listed as "end mills" but depending on the material you are cutting you can usually find something with the flute geometry that you'll need. (It may be somewhat confusing as they have over 400 pages to choose from...!).

if you can handle i" loc then here you go http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INSRIT?PARTPG=INSRAR2&PMAKA=322-5932&PMPXNO=7776335
overall length is 3" but when you go to a longer cut it jumps to 153.00
just looked at mcmaster and they have one with a 2" loc 4.5" long for 58.00 do a search for part no# 8878A71
