Completely random spindle faults

hey everyone,

im having a huge issues with my shopbot PRS Alpha, the damn thing has problems the faults code:EF4 I believe, which indicates that there is some mysterious issue in the spindle. Sooo... to date i have checked all connections from VFD to spindle and spindle to board all is AOK. Spindle does not seem to overheating issues.

can someone give me some insight, I have been on the horn with tech support but have been unable to resolve the issue.

the system is PRS alpha: auto tool changer upgrade from shopbot. Ill find all the part number etc.. this afternoon when im in front of my machine.

From Yaskawa manual:


EF4: External fault input
Protective command from control
Operation. circuit terminal S4

S4 Multi-Function-Input 4 Factory setting is " Fault Reset " (1)

Do you have the manual that came with it? Pretty good documentation.
