I am running a PRT 96.

I am cutting a file and all of a sudden the machine stops moving, wait a few seconds and then it will move again, cut a few more lines of code and stop again. At one point an error popped up that says data in buffer?

I am running a file that I cut frequently. As a mater of fact, I have already ran the file this morning with no issues.

Any help would be appreciated as I need to complete the part today.

Found the problem, I had somehow pinched my serial cable

I thought I had solved my problem. I replaced my serial cable and then all of a sudden this morning the machine started stopping in the middle of a cut. I have to alt control delete to get out of the program and shut it down.

Restart and re- zero everything... what a pain.

It certainly appears that it is a communication error between the PC and Controller. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds to me like there's something up with your computer. Run the task manager to find out what else is running & kill it. Next time it acts up, run the TM again and see what is running. Programs that attempt to even look for the internet to auto update (incl. Windows) will interrupt the communication stream & cause the problems you are describing.
