I am trying to cut some internal threads. I'm using partsworks 2.5 with a spiral toolpath. Everything works fine except when the cut is finished. When the tool pulls up it cuts a notch up the side. Leaving a spot without any thread. Partworks 2.5 will not let you lead in or out with a spiral toolpath. Thanks for any sugestions!

See if a lead out would work

Thanks. But part works automatically changes the spiral tool path to a zig zag ramp when I add any leads.

I would manually edit the tool path G-Code to stop at the end of the spiral, make a move to the center of the hole, then retract up and out? Basicaly use all the tool path file that you already have but change the last two lines of code.

That sounds like a good plan. Thank you. I will do some homework and dry runs first. Thanks again for your suggestion!

You can also use the CP command in SB3.

Brady.... You have pointed out another feature with which I am not familiar! Now I need to go look up tutorials to see how to utilize it. I really appreciate you broadening my (our) horizons on this sort of thing!

In the pop up, I see the ability to choose a direction (clockwise or counter/anti clockwise) and see the no lead out tab....

I don't have a need for this TODAY, but I know darn well if I study it right now, I will be using it for something VERY SOON!

Thanks,

Monty
