Couldn't C3 this morning--Hard stop On X-Axis--Blows right past the Prox.
I'll post settings after I clean and double check all connections.
I just couldn't resist the pic :)

You should see the SPIDERS Scott!! :)
On a serious note;
I just found out a friend from the forum will be coming by tomorrow to see the Desktop set-up!! First Shopbotter in shop:)
GOT to find the problem, and will post if I can't find anything obvious.
My 5 Proximities were hooked in series by the factory and it was pretty much the first Desktop shipped like that, and not sure if it matches other Desktops.
Got a call into Kirk to see what his settings are, as his was a copy of mine.
All prox's EXCEPT X,0 work as they should:confused
Back at it.
Don't think .22 snakeshot will do it Scott. I cut out 5' of dry-rot from his Cypress stomach yesterday----And He's STILL smiling!!:)

Scott,
If you keypad towards the X0 (assuming the limits are ON under VN), does it stop or continue on? If it goes past, and the others don't, check that switch for proper gap, loose and not near the target, or connection. I know that the desktop proxes are different than the PRS, but I've not looked at one up close.
Another issue that could be is that with the way the C3 routine is written, it's looking at the setting of switch #2 when it should be looking at #3 to determine what type of machine one has (#3 is the switch connection in common between the two types and all of the desktop switches are on #3) and if a desktop/PRT user uses switch #2 for something else and sets it to 2/NRM Closed Limit, the routine will fail and run past the switch. So, check your switch #2 setting and if you have nothing connected to it, it should be 0. If you do have something attached to it, you'll need to edit the routine.
Funny story on snakes. My Dad didn't like snakes either and one day when he went out the door there was a larger than normal grass snake next to the sidewalk. He grabbed a nearby shovel and chopped it in half. He then took the shovel and scooped up the tail end and took it out to the woods at the edge of the yard. When he came back, the head end was gone and there was a blood trail going into the dryer vent! He went in and turned the dryer on high, went back out and waited for it to crawl back out. Sure enough, it did, and he got the other half then. Moral of the story, get rid of the head end first. Don't turn your back on the head end! ;)

Thanks Scott, Limit switches"on". Does it in Keypad also. Think it's X,24 prox, as now I'm getting intermittent on the others, depending on "wiggling" that prox. Checking a couple of other things(related to Z-mod plate), and may try swapping out the X,24 prox as it's "loose" compared to the others.
Going to have to read up on "gap" never needed before.

OK. I opened up a VCarve file to double check something and against the white background the little "pink spots" shown in the VN pic became VERY obvious. Blew out HDMI connection/reseated/ then blew out every single port and connection on control computer AND UPS. Bye-Bye "pink spots". Got rid of the wireless mouse I'd been using for a week as the left mouse button stopped working last week and am now USB mouse again.
Still did it! HATE that noise.
Cleaned ALL male/female prox connectors with LPS electrical contact cleaner.
Still did it, and only on that X,0 prox.
Oh, Cleaned all targets.
Swapped X,24 prox with my old Z-prox, but didn't reglue it.
Took close up pics to show on forum, AND saw Padauk super-fines on the contact plate itself. Couldn't see that close-up from wheelchair. I had shut DC off one night last week to do a clean-up pass on male inlay part and hadn't blown/vacced off as there wasn't much there and the chips got re-chopped with a .125"60engraving bit at 16,000.
Went out and cleaned the front and back of the X,0 prox plate, and JUST for kicks and giggles, Keypadded to X,0----and it WORKED! :)
70F and 55% humidity here.
Didn't think something I couldn't see from 3 feet away would put me down.
Time to cinch up the 2 DirtBags again.
Thanks Scott!
