I have a H65"xW96" HDU sign that I need to repaint. It has been taken down and I have removed the MDO backer board that was rotted. I would like to replace the backer board to help add some strength and cleanup the back where the old backer was removed.
What is the best material to use and the best way to attache it?
I was thinking about using a aluminum sign board (Dibond, Alumilite), but reading different posts there seems to be problems with different expansion rates between the aluminum and HDU.
Is there anything that does work as a backer for HDU besides MDO?
