Bill,
I'll be there. Who and what do I need to do to get my name on the list, and how can I help to facilitate?
Thanks,
Fred

Fred,
We'll be posting details later in the week, and at that point we'll see just what everyone would hope to get from the Camp...

Just read the forum, definitely interested in a bit of exposure to some seasoned operators. We've just aquired a PRT96, have only the cut software....so we're interested in software options and capabilities (not to mention machine potential).
If you could, please email me any info concerning Phoenix Camp ShopBot.
Status: Does there seem to currently be enough interest in the Phoenix area for a seminar (not much for responses on the forum)?

Travis,
There are a number of Shopbot owners in the area, and we'll definately be holding the Camp as scheduled. We'll be posting more info in the next few weeks...

Bill,
I would definitely be interested in attending the Phoenix camp. I have tons of questions and want to get info on what I can and can't do with one of these machines. Put me on the list.
Thanks,
Shari

Arizona Camp Shopbot
On Saturday May 6th we will be holding our first Arizona Camp Shopbot. The location will be;
Unique Restaurant Interiors
1719 W University Dr #187 Tempe AZ, 85281
The hosts for this Camp will be Doug Berk dberk06@sprintpcs.com (mailto:dberk06@sprintpcs.com) , and Don Carey donc@meltingpotaz.com (mailto:donc@meltingpotaz.com). OR you can just contact ME directly for info.
The Camp will run from approximately 9AM to 5PM. There will be a coffee/donut breakfast between 8:30-9AM, and a pizza lunch.
Some of the topics we plan to cover will be;
Vacuum hold down systems for your machine
Software options for cutting a variety of objects
Modifications/maintenance of your machine
Ideas for making money with your ‘Bot
Projects being done around the country by other ‘Botters
Sign making
3 D carving
And we’ll also have a session we call “Show and Tell” where we ask YOU to bring in some pieces (OR pictures of your work on a flash drive, etc) to briefly explain how YOU use your machine.
As with ALL Camps we are very flexible, and if you have some specific areas you’d like to see covered please get back to me so I can try to include them into the schedule if it is practical to do so.
Please keep checking back at this "thread" as we'll be posting info on hotels, etc. shortly. Thanks!

hello all
I'm interested in ShopBot Camp AZ
emailed dberk last week but no response so I've signed up to the forum
had our benchtop for several years, works 40 hours a week, so we keep it busy
we make musical instruments (www.highspirits.com (http://www.highspirits.com) if you want to see them)
do I need to do more to sign or do I just turn up on the 6th May and start with breakfast
thanks, Philip

We were just in Tempe over the weekend and were lucky to get a room overnight. Be sure to make reservations for the Phoenix Camp if you plan to stay overnight.
Priceline gave us good rooms in Mesa for $60 per night. Easy drive to the Camp location.

Our first Arizona Camp was a good one! We had over 25 people all day and there were a lot of different applications for using the machine. Good questions, and real potential for a user's group in the area over the next few weeks and months.
The weather even co-operated and instead of the forecast 100 degrees it was only in the upper 80's..
A number of people brought samples for the Show and Tell session, but my camera suffered from a dead battery so I couldn't capture any for posting. If anyone from the Camp has pix they took, please send them to us at;Campshopbot@shopbottools.com (mailto:Campshopbot@shopbottools.com)
Thanks to all who attended and Doug Berk, and the guys from Unique Restaurant Interiors who hosted the event !

I just wanted to say thank you as well. We enjoyed meeting the group. They were all very helpful and I don't think I've met a more gracious bunch in a long, long time. I can't wait til we get our equipment and officially join the club.
Thanks again,
Shari & Reese
