Hello guys,
got a problem concerning rpm spindle speed : With new shopbot update, when i choose in vcarve to have 500 rpm for drilling for exemple , the speed decrease from 18000 rpm to 15000 rpm. Impossible to reach 500 rpm as i could have before, 15000 rpm seems to be the new "low limit" ??? Where can i change this value ?? Thanks?
Pierre.

Click on the top left of the Spindle Control window (the cursor will change when you're in the right spot) and a fill-in sheet with the parameters will appear.
Check that they are correct for your VFD. I know that when I've installed a new version they often get changed.

My spindle will not go much below 5000 RPM. I don't think any of them will.

What spindle do you have? My 4hp will only go to 9000 rpm

What I should have said, is it will only go down to 9000 rpm
Pierre said his will go down to 500 rpm for drilling

Off topic, but was curious. Desktop 1hp spindle begins to turn at 3.3 indicated on VFD--seems stable at 18 indicated, but no idea of torque and can't imagine using it.
Would NOT use a drill in my spindle, But did cut 340 holes yesterday .33"deep, .32and .375"D with a .25" EM at 2.6,1.4,8K with a spiral ramp and inside line profile cut. time was about 38 minutes and bit was warm, but could keep my finger on it comfortably.
(Kyle S.--copied your Desktops spoilboard glued on top of spoilboard:) )
