I have been machining alum lately and am trying to organize my files
toward more efficiency. Say I have an upper layout and a lower layout
on the same blank- I assign one to a 'upper layer' and choose green-
another to a 'lower layer' and choose blue. When I turn off the layers
I don't want to see and work on the active layer the prog often turns
on the other layers if I group or ungroup. I don't see a pattern yet and
I have tryed starting a new file and importing to the respective layers
so nothing is shared. Any thoughts? Also in the list of toolpaths... my
lists get lengthy and I try to hide>this (or all) in the right click menu
and it does nothing that I can detect- should it (it would be handy).
Thanks Gene

What is happening is that you are not switching your active layer.

If you have three layers called A, B and C with layer B active any operation that changes the vectors on A or C will mean the vector will be on layer B after the operation.

The active layers is shown on the Layer dropdown and in the layers tab in bold. If the layer name is displayed in red it means it's the active layer but not visible.

The hide this/all option on the toolpaths is there to change the visibility of the toolpath on the view rather than hiding it from the list itself.

Thanks Adrian, been dealing with that for months and couldn't nail it down. In my case buttons of course, but changing back layers after a simple Ungroup/reGroup was driving me bananas..
