Does anyone have a 3d relief file for the Sydney opera house, if not would anyone be able to design one so i can cut it on Vectrics Cut3d. I would be willing to pay for either one.

Tony, Forwarded this thread to Graeme yesterday, but he was having computer problems last time we talked.
He may not want to let his "Baby" go, and like most of us--he won't want to let it go until it's "Perfect"(which of course will never happen):)
Good Luck,

Hi Tony,
I need to get back to working on this. Do you have an urgent need for it?

Hi Graeme
Yea I was hoping for something this week.
I was going to have the Opera house in the forground with the bridge in the background. And it will be fairly large at around 8' x 4'.

Hi Tony,
I created the file at quite a high resolution. It would be interesting to see how it scales up to 8' x 4'. It's quite possible you'd want to add considerable detail to fill it out. As to your time frame, I would not be able to do anything further with it before Christmas. Even after that I have a lot on my plate. It's a project I want to get finished, but there are other things that also require my attention.
Sorry I can't help you sooner.
Actually, I'm not even sure how to export from Aspire to something that can be imported to Cut3d (not owning Cut3d). What file types can Cut3d open or import?
Thanks
Graeme

There are quite a few diferent formats it canimport, usually I get an STL or DXF.
Thanks Graeme, hope you find time for your project I'll have to see if I can find some other solution Or possibly taking the 3D plunge myself.

Hi Tony,
Good luck with the project. I've reached the conculsion that the design, as it stands now, would not scale well to the size you are wanting. While the broad shape is built using 3D techniques and a 1/8" ball nose, the detail is provided with a V bit - roof tiles etc. For a larger version I would want to use more 3d techniques for the entire thing - something that would really require the overall model to be revisited - not something I really have time for.
All the best for Christmas

This wasn't what you were looking for exactly but it may help get dimensions / proportions correct. Russ
