Desktop Z-Axis Retrofit

I can't seem to find any forum discussions on this. Anybody out there working with a desktop machine with the 5.5" z_axis upgrade? does it work well? worth the cost?

Fredrick, We've done the Z-Mod to both our Desktops---LOVE mine:)
My advice is do it NOW, before the price goes up!

I concur. The extra 1.5" doesn't sound like a lot but I've always felt a little tight between my table and often thick wood along with long ball and mill bits.

Once the extra height is in place it seems like a massive amount of room, which I'll be seriously testing soon. Couldn't be happier.
