layered text, trim and weld tool.

Need help on understanding layered text. The weld tool and the trim tool.
I can design layered text smaller text on top larger on bottom, but when I
move the first layer or smaller text to a position where one smaller letter is over a island in the larger text and I try to weld it I lose part of the text. Need help. Mike.

When you do the weld you will lose things like the centers of O's, A's etc.

Two ways around it. Once is to select them all and do a Ctrl-C copy so you have them on the clipboard. Do the weld and paste them back in.

The other way is to group the parts of the letters that are affected so, for the example of an O you would select the outer oval and the inner oval and group.
