5 axis aluminum cut (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnIvhlKT7SY). #badass
Look at the cutters!! wow
Joe
Thanks for posting.
Last week Steven Hawkins said, computers like these with their instant recall, precision movements and endless energy will no longer need us. And that will be a lethal threat to humanity. What these computers can't do is what James Brown, Marcel Proust, and Elvis brought did. O, lets not forget Marilyn M.
Now for another cut of hot tea!

And LOTS of $ :)
Wonder how long the cut was and what settings for that finish:)
Thanks Joe!
Why not get much higher quality with that little digital 3D printer setting over there in the corner? It would be interesting to me a comparison in time and cost.

That machine will start cloning itself and take over the world.
I hope they programmed in the 3 Laws of Robotics, or we are all doomed.

Joe, I think this was an ad for there cnc to show what it can do and I don't think that printer can print aluminum. Also that mill will give a better finish then most 3d printers. We have a guy in town that makes molds for 3m and the DoD and his stuff is like glass off the mill.

SO if you work with people (nursing, health care, counselor) you get paid low wages but if you get a few computer skills under your belt, you can make a solid 6 figure salary.
Sad...

Not sure about the others but RN's make a very good living in WI and MN not sure about the rest of the US.

You need a lot more than a few computer skills to make 6 figures. CNC programmers making close to 6 figures are probably few and far between, and would be very skilled at what they do.
And my wife is a nurse, and gets paid pretty well. But the people in charge don't keep enough nurses on staff (to save money), which endangers the patients.
Sorry for the OT post.

Hardly a few computer skills to get that sort of money. It's all about the number of people capable of doing the jobs to the level of skill required in an acceptable time frame.
The Mythical Man Month is a good read to explain why some people get the big bucks in IT and some don't when their backgrounds and qualifications would say otherwise.
And of course there is the argument that if it was somehow economical to pay large salaries for social type jobs then it would start to attract the wrong people.
Jeee's, talk about a Hi-Jacked post. Where did that come from!
The latest 5 axis routers are a marvel but also are the latest 3D printers. Our neighbor has a 24"X30" printer and the output is amazing and the detail is unlimited. I would have never believed it with seeing the final products.
I'm sure most of you have heard about NASA experimenting with a 3d printer aboard celestial rockets in order to make repair parts. Who knows how it will work in zero gravity.
Lazers, CNC's and 3d printing give the promise of fun and beauty.

One of the more advanced, "lasered 3d" research intitutes.

I've been to the place and talked to the people that were involved with the NASA 3d printer, it prints in titanium.
Pretty cools stuff:D

Bob,
I agree with Gerry.
My wife is a nurse also and makes very good money. (traveling home health nurse)
"If I got a few computer skills.... 6 figures......hehe....(golf clap)"
I have those skills, and one day hope to see 6 figures.
What is your secret?

You can 3d print metal. The process is not as straight forward as it seems. The printer lays a layer of powdered material say, titanium, then after the layer is complete a laser makes its pass and precisely welds the material! rinse and repeat till you have a full part. Then you evacuate the unwelded powder.

Joe, NASA emailed a wrench to the International Space Station not so long ago.
They have a 3D printer on board.
