Any chance some knows the measurements of/ knows the layout of the drill mount for a PRS alpha (just the lower piece that that clamps onto the drill housing). I need to have new one made up, and am looking to avoid having to disassemble mine/put it back together/redo offsets etc, until I actually put the new one on.

This is probably the closest you are going to get to a drawing: Via 3D Warehouse (https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=bf83a903dcd46b614666fffee05c594d)

Thanks Brady. I'm just looking for the aluminum 'block' that the drill slides into. Its very roughly 2" x 3" x 1"thick, and has a in it for the drill body.
Not the end of the world if I need to pull things apart to measure it, just thought I'd check here first.

Nat,
I just put in my order for a new PRSalpha with an air drill. I won't get it for another month, but if you're not in a hurry I could possibly help then. In the meantime, wouldn't ShopBot be able to provide a dxf drawing? - Rob

Shopbot inc is nice, but if it was me I would not just hand out plans to parts i sell and put money in to design.

Nat,
I have my air drill pulled in from my shop. Which parts do you need detailed? It is raining/sleeting and right around freezing.... in other words- I don't have a whole lot to do, and would be happy to measure off some parts if it helps you repair a mount or something. (Or let me know if you want a full air drill set up. I doubt seriously that I will ever reinstall this one. I don't drill enough of anything to make it worth my time, and I don't have a compressor that could feed it.)

Would you like to sell it?

I need to remake the aluminum piece that the drill body actually slides into.
I'm now thinking that that's going to have too many details to ask you to measure though. There's the outer measurements of the block itself, 2 holes to bolt that piece onto the vertical member, hole for the dril, hole for the bolt to clamp it closed, some are countesunk etc. That's alot...

Yes Kyle... not to steal Nat's thread. We should probably take that to a PM if you are serious. Tell me what it is worth to you.
It is the complete unit ( support that goes back to the spindle mount, Air drill, attached to the unit, all gear - clear up to the electronic switch and wires going back to control box.) Has a quick connect at top. You'd supply your air line to the machine. (simple, flexible, compressor air line w quick connect).
I have not used this in the 2+ years I have had the machine. Previous owner used it in a cabinet shop.
Send me a note if this is something you can use.

Nat,
How old is your air drill? Does it have the red slider valve at the top? If so, are you talking about the part the red arrow is pointing to below?

Hi,
2008 PRS Alpha (ordered with the drills), and it does have the red slider valve at the top.
That's the piece!

Nat
Got it drawn up. Send me a PM where you can get a dxf file. I will send it over to you. And yes. It is the piece that Brady has pointed out in his photo.

Watch that center plug of material where the drill would go if you are planning on routing it on the Bot. Leave an onion skin (.01-.02 is fine) and bash out with a mallet...or cut out with utility knife. Crush slot where squeezy bolt goes is easiest on bandsaw...or hacksaw.

Thanks a million Monty, PM sent.
Thanks Brady, I'll no doubt be checking back in with more questions on milling this when the time comes...
