Quite some time ago Brady suggested this book to me as a must-have.
I pour over it on a regular basis, just to put the pictures in my head.
By doing that, over time my 3d models have gotten better and better and better. With a little math and layout, the elements come together beautifully, and in a way that I've not seen them before.
There's a lot of pride in doing a Victorian something that's actually original. :)
Anyways, I recently found that the book is free and public domain.
I had bought mine for Kindle on my ipad and have recently wanted to buy a hardback copy I could scan for reference in the shop.
I downloaded two pdf's, one is color and one is black and white.
I'm still going to order the hardback copy, but the pdf's will allow me to print the pages I want without hogging up my book.
I agree with Brady that everyone should have the book. It's fantastic.
So that you guys don't have to hunt them, I've put both copies in my dropbox. Here's the link. (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8urgiz940f0krql/AADinerjDM2-6HT1vWNLclQEa?dl=0)
If you want to look for other scans, there are a number of them. Just Google "Handbook of Ornament filetype:pdf" without the quotes.
(The smiley is a colon and a p, I can't fix it, sorry.)
Once you become familiar with it, I'd urge you to buy a hardback copy.
The softcover is cheaper, but it's much smaller than the hardback.
Please let me know what you think of the book!!!
