Thanks in advance!!

PRS Alpha ATC

Ever since I installed the latest versions of the control software -- I've had problems.. mainly the CNC loosing it's location - usually on the Y axis.

However, now I can't do a C-2 -- the light comes on in the control software (I think it's input #1) when I ground to the plate .. however, it stops there on the initial plunge -- and the control software states "The C2 did not connect for some reason.,..".

The control software version I was running in 2012 worked fine... any idea where I can find an older version to re-install?

Hey Brent,
You can find archived versions of the software here (http://www.shopbottools.com/mSupport/SBCSarchive.htm)

But...before you do that, check your Recycle Bin on the PC to see if you still have the control software installer from 2012 in there...If so, just restore it and reinstall it ;)

Be 100% sure to install the control box firmware for any version you install. Just do a UI and follow the distructions.

RE: Zeroing failure.

I had for quite a while after I upgraded from Standard to Alpha and newer, but not newest, control software an issue with intermittent C2 failures. Sometimes, and usually but not always, on the second touch the Z would halt and I would get a driver shut down. Couldn't find the problem for ages and I was convinced it had to do with either the controller or the software as I had never had a problem like this before. Then one time a splice that I had put in the curled part of the cable going to the plate separated. My cable is original equipment from when I first bought the old girl 10 years ago and has a couple splices from operational whoopses over the years. I redid all splices and have not had an issue since. Probably should order a new cable anyway.

So check that the cable connections are all perfect. Your zeroing issue may not be related to the software.
