Its been a while since the numerous posts have been around, where several members were having issues with the newer version of the software and others were scared to try it because of that.

I have been continually upgrading to the latest version since I made the initial upgrade in summer of 2013 - and to date I have had zero issues with my machine.

Are things finally getting better or are the users who were having issues with the upgrades just revert back to an earlier version?

Not trying to stir up anything, I am merely curious what happened as it has been a while...

Z-Zeroing "First tap and FREEZE" problem has pretty much disappeared since going to 3.8.26:)
NO other problems noticed, Which is FINE by me:)

The only issue I had was several versions ago, where the machine would go into, "Slow motion mode." and stay that way for awhile, before resuming at normal speed.

I had issues several versions ago which kept me on 3.6.x for awhile and experienced the "slow mode" that Ron mentioned a number of times but have had no problems so far with 3.8.26.

3.8.26 is running fine on the Desktop. My big machine runs an older version that is also rock-solid. If it ain't broke don't fix it...

On a side note, ShopBot should be commended for their control software. Just think about how many different computers run this software successfully, on a number of OS platforms, various hardware and processors. Not to mention PCs that probably don't have the latest Windows Update (or do) - creating all kinds of variables. I think they are peerless in this regard since other machines in the same price category come with a locked down pre-configured machine with specific hardware etc. Not many other CNCs will run off of a laptop...

Pretty cool, huh?

Still using 3.6.44.....seen no need to update as this version gives me everything I need and is rock solid. When I update my PC then I'll update the control software as well. As Brady says......if ain't broke why change it and possibly create an unexpected headache......
