Well, I finally went and did it! My bot is now coming up on 9 years old! Can you believe it? I've had my hardened X rails for 2 years and I just seemed to keep justifying regrinding as "being faster to get me by until I get time..." I'm sure none of you guys do stuff like that.

Well, I got the time! I figured since it's down from the move, the gantry was already off, I should do it. So, being sadistic, I picked up rails for both the upper and lower Y on the gantry too. I mean, how hard could it be? right? :D

Here is the technical stuff

Anyway, I can't wait to try it out. After 9 years she's getting all new pinions, all hardened rails, added some bracing, re-positioned and trued up everything, tightened up all the bolts... she's going to run better than new! :)

AWSOME Harry,
I am fixin up my old bot too. New rails are a while off for me though. It gets addicting once you start saying, hmmm what can I improve next?

Pics please when you are done.....or heck, maybe I will drive up and take a look when you are all done? I think I'm not to far from you. That is if visitors are welcome......:)

You're welcome to stop by, when and for how long depends on the bottle of wine you bring. :D

You're about 1.5 to 2 hours from me depending on where you're at. I'm just East of Jackson GA not far from Jackson lake. We also have a small fishing pond ourselves full of catfish. I can't it's "fishing" as it's more like just "catching".
