Anyone done or doing these.

Wood type used and finishes are my questions.

I will be replacing something that is 4 years old made of Basswood.
I do not even use Basswood for indoors.

Anyway the area gets lots of afternoon sun and rain blows in and some even stands around the cabinetry.

Basic plan is a new brick kick to get the wood up and away from standing water.

I have never worked with teak or cypress.
I have worked with white oak but I am not certain what to finish it with to guarantee the product.
All advise appreciated, thanks in advance.

Most of the time we will do the cabinets from Marine Grade exterior ply and coat in spar varnish. Doors can vary by client. Often use Western Red Cedar for the doors finished with Sikkens. All hardware, screws, etc. are stainless. Sugatsune makes Euro hinges and ball bearing slides (sim to Accuride) in Stainless.

There are other options such as Starboard.

Dave,
Thought sure You would have seconded Gene's "Build it like a Boat" recommendation :)
Teak and silicon bronze IS a nice combo:)(If pricey)

Pricey is right! Just checked local pricing for board and was a bit shocked.
