I use Aspire and I need some help. on setting the bowl of the spoon, what is the best angle for a spoon like a large cooking spoon.
what would be the base height if the bowl is to be .125 deep and the wood is .25

For a depth of just 1/8" I'd try 30 degrees.
More slope will give a steep sloped edge, with a flat bottom VS a nice rounded bowl shape.
Will depend of course on the size of the bowl (diamater).
I think base height would be zero, and set the height limit to your 1/8" (negative).

Be sure to add a zero plane at the top of the component stack or your edges will be jagged. RE: http://support.vectric.com/aspire-questions/item/what-is-the-zero-plane
There is a good video link with example at the bottom of that page.

Thanks Andrew and Brady. I have not set up a spoon bowl in 6 years and had forgotten how. I have a new design for a one handed spoon and fork that a customer asked me to make and to put into production. I got it prototyped last night and it will ship to him today. Thanks to you two.

Quick question, are you doing these with flat handles?

yes I am doing them with flat handles that way they will be spring loaded when open and will lay flat when folded.

You sleep on the Buddy Bed like last year:)
Maybe time to get a full size machine so you can sleep in comfort? :)
