Running 3.8.26 on Desktop. Spindle stopped retracting after a Spacebar/Pause last week. Movement stop and spindle shut-down are OK, BUT it's doing it in the cut.
Started doing it last week when I left USB in the night before. I was busy and rarely Pause and everything else was perfect, but was doing test cuts yesterday.
UR'd and it runs perfect with no problems, EXCEPT for the no retract.
I Could just try a new 3.8.26 install/firmware, but thought there might be something I could check beforehand?
I'd like to understand what caused it and why.
Searched, but maybe wrong terms.
Any hints on what to check?
WELL Grounded, computer stripped and behaving.
Thanks,
scott

Restart your computer & control box and see if you can consistently replicate the problem. If yes, then report it as a bug to SB Support.

Going to give it the full power off tonight and full fresh reload tomorrow.
If still doing it then, I'll notify Tech.
Will post fix/problem.
Thought it might have been something reset that wasn't obvious.
Thanks Brady
Annoying as everything today is test cuts:(

You didn't happen to set your safe Z value to nothing like here (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/showthread.php?21114-Estop-adjustment-or-alternative)?

I'll double check SB3 settings in case they Flaked Out on me.
Don't recall seeing any "below safe Z" in moves recently, Which is a little strange now you mention it. And just this morning was working on 2.46" stock with a 3"FEM.
Thanks Scott,

Scott, It's not enough to just shut everything down but you need to shut everything down then go to the circuit box and cut off all electricity to the control box so that anything stuck in he memory gets deleted.

Thanks Jack,
Just shut down, UPS off and pulled UPS plug from wall, so should be set.
Scott, She's still set to .5" in VC, But on last C2 after she retracted to upper Z prox switch, Input 3 stayed green and I got a "Stop Hit"? Cleaned connections and Re-Zeroed after moving it off the prox. Second time no problem.
I wouldn't think that would do it, but I'll test tomorrow before UR'ing again with a clean download of 3.8.26.
Thanks all.

Called Tech Support today and got Jeremy on the phone.
Operator Malfunction! :(
Scott, You were on the right track:)
I just started referencing to the spoilboard last week for the production files and not used to it.
I had VC (Values Cutter) Safe Z set at .5", but now referencing to spoilboard and was cutting an inch above spoilboard, so when I hit Spacebar and it Interrupted the program and kicked back to SB3 table coordinates.....it saw it was .5" off spoilboard....so it didn't retract, Because it was already over .5"!
Changed VC Safe Zheight to 1.5"...and NOW it retracts .5" above my 1" material. :)
I never knew Spacebar/Pause Kicked it back to SB3 table co-ordinates.....DUH!
All better know and could have saved myself a lot of grief by calling Support!
Learning Day:)
Thanks all!
