Hi all,
I have a little project I am working on and would like some input to clean it up a lot.
Making a high school logo in Plexiglas 3" tall by 2.5" wide - I am sure I am not using the correct bits but am using what I have a the moment.

Used a 1/8" ball nose at .75 inch sec & .013 - used a 1/8 straight bit .75 inch sec in 3 passes to cut 2.13 with 2 tabs

Cutting went ok but it looks bad, I have been looking at some engraving bits but I am not sure what size I should get

Thanks in advance for advice & help

Tim

please excuse the dust

Hey Tim,

My advise would be to pick up a 60 and 90 degree bit and try re-toolpathing.

.75ips ms and .25 z is where I would begin the cutting and speed up or slow down from there.

Looks like a cool project.

A diamond drag bit is what you need, not cheap but well worth the investment.
Tips last forever, they are capable of amazing detail and never any melting issues. I did this one with a drag bit, though it is 10x10 I have done 3x3 with equally impressive results.

Well - purchased a 60 degree sharp point engraving bit and it looks a lot better, thanks for the help.
