I've designed a dust shoe that performs very well. It took a few modifications to refine the design. Since the opening is small most of the vacuum is directed to the chips. However, I am not satisfied with the brush and how it is attached to the shoe.
The body of the shoe is vacuum formed and attached to a polycarbonate plate.

I've attached it with double sided tape and pop rivets. It works OK but it hasn't held up in the long run..
I'm hoping someone can suggest a more suitable brush and method of attaching the brush to the shoe.

90 degree aluminum angle is easy to work, drill and screw/rivet.

I need a material I can easily bend into a circle.

If you scarf it, it bends right around. Also, if you get something that isn't too thick, it will bend by hand without scarfing.

You could also just cut a ring out of PVC, acrylic, wood or whatever & screw to that.

Off topic slightly;
Brady,
I want to make a 3" bristle dustfoot for the Desktop for my longer bits/deeper cuts.
Would any of these be suitable for me using a Fein II Hepa?

Scott,
I am sure most will be fine. I think the early PRTs just used a door sweep with white strip at the top. Frost King @ Depot.

Or maybe not. You can cut a full or partial narrow (maybe 1/2" wide?) hoop or frame from 3/4" plywood and screw or staple the PVC to the outside. That is kind of what I did for my dust boot. I am using the same transparent thick PVC.

Brady, thanks for the suggestions. I plan to try a short length of PVC pipe.
