View Full Version : How do you go about fixing a curve with too many nodes?

I am wondering if there is a better way than what I am doing,
which works but takes time. I delete all the nodes except the
ones next to the straight lines- then make them smooth nodes
and reform the curve. Thanks Gene

After reading this I am thinking... the curves I import from my
vector program are smooth- it is what Aspire generates that
have all the nodes with straight lines between them?

On the Drawing Tab under Edit Objects the third icon from the left is "Fit curves to selected vectors" and you can choose to use arcs or Bezier curves and then preview to see the results...joe

In Aspire there is "Curve fit vectors" under the edit menu. Play with it a bit and you can run it repeatedly to get the node count you re looking for.

Thank you gentlemen... you made my day. I took 10 minutes to get that answer... I love this board. :D

Trace over the dirty one on a fresh layer. Then delete the original.
