Hello people,
Could someone refresh my memory on what the setting is to control the rate of speed on the onion skin pass? I remembered it being the '% Full Feed for Through Cuts' field in the Cut Parameters settings. This has no effect and the program defaults to the 2.23"/sec. speed for the onion. Frustrating. I've been poking around in the other settings but have not stumbled on anything else that could change this setting. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim
Are you referring to SBLink? If so, I have my skin pass set at 80% of cut speed which is set at 300ipm.

Hi Don,
Yes, I'm trying to get the Link setting to cut at 3"/sec on the onion skin pass. I'm currently cutting at 480ipm so it looks like it should be around 37.5%?
No matter what gets popped into this field the onion skin pass is defaulting to 2.23"/sec. Got me to wondering if there is another input that addresses this onion skin feed speed?
Thanks,
Tim

O.K.,
Just did the 5 minute G.C. fix and re-installed the SB3 and Link programs after saving off my settings. Reloaded settings. Changed the '% Full Feed thru Cuts' setting to 80%. Renested the parts and picked up where I left off on a current cutting job. STILL defaults the onion skin thru cut to 2.33"/sec. I'll drag the problem over to Thermwood's forum and see if anyone may have any insights there as well.

One lost VFD com and a snapped mortise compression bit later......
Sheesh! I'm starting to think it's going back to the SB3 control. Maybe go back a few revisions to where I had it last summer. Might try that next.

Hi Tim,
Minimum feed rate is 140". Last line feed speed for pre ramps is 75 ips. '% Full Feed for Thru Cuts' was just tried at 65%.
Still cutting last pass at 2.33ips.
It would appear that the last pass feed rate is being controlled by the'Min Feed Rate' as 140ipm = 2.33ips.
So now I'm wondering what the '% full feed for thru cuts' is doing?
Thanks for the heads up. The answer was there, just had to convert the ipm into ips to find it. I'll try nesting again and adjusting the min feed rate up to 240ipm to get the desired 4ips last pass feed rate.
Thanks again!
Tim

Yep,
it was the minimum feed rate setting and not the %feed rate that seems to control the final thru cut.

Good deal!
