Product that one can produce that touches the heart will always be a good sales item. People buy things that touches there heart, for pets, family, and friends. They buy these gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, funerals, etc.

We have developed a new product the framed hymns that we have been softly introducing to our existing customers.

My Aunt that had a stroke passed away. I had a hymn that I thought fit her mind set while she was alive so I took that framed hymn down to a florist that we use for funerals etc. I was wanting it put in a wreath. When the florist saw the hymn first thing she asked was were we going to put them into production. She also said that the framed Hymn was perfect on it's own, and that the only thing she would do was put a small bow and a tag on it.

After she fixed the hymn for me she placed a order for 9 of the hymns.

Tina and I got up early this morning and drove the two hours to the town where my aunt lived so that I could have the Hymn there before the rest of the family showed up. (we were 4 hours early)
The funeral director meet us at the door, and I TOLD HER that I was early so that I could place this hymn in the parlor. She went and got a stand and placed it next to the coffin. She then proceeded to ask me where I had bought the framed hymn. When I told her that we made it. She asked if we ever made product for sale. I told her that we Wholesaled the hymns. She asked the price and for our business card and said that she wanted to order enough stock of each hymn to give to each family, and preacher. she told me she wanted to have enough in stock so that she would never run out.

We had not thought of this product as a line for the florist or especially the funeral home. This only goes to show that people will buy for the heart. Both of these places deal with the heart on a daily basics. They knew that this would be a great product for their business.
Now I am re-thinking of where I want to market the Hymns and at other product that I can produce for their use.

That is 12 x 12 framed, I used walnut for the frame and baltic birch for the song.

My condolences on the loss of your Aunt.

A beautiful sentiment on your part to honor her. Nicely done. I am sure she is smiling on you even now.

I think this is a terrific idea, and I hope you have cleared the copyright issues with the hymn's owners/authors.

I wondered that also… it’s public domain! http://library.timelesstruths.org/music/What_a_Friend_We_Have_in_Jesus/

this is public public domain like Steve said. copyrights and patents do have an expiration date. All the hymns that I have done are now public domain. if you have a copy right and you die any the heirs do not claim it it becomes public domain.
Be-leave you me., if it is not public domain I will not use it.
