Can someone explain the meaning for the following error message?
"Unit Values for Z and A are not the same!" and then it exits the Cut file.
I'm new to the Shopbot World, so the interface is still strange to me.
I'm cutting a 3-axis file, and I do have a Indexer connected on "A", but it's not being used for this file.

I've used this cut file before the last controller upgrade without a problem, then everything I've tried after the 3.8.30 upgrade has produced this error. I tried reverting to a earlier version but no luck.

I'm using an Alpha Buddy 48 w/12" Z and a Indexer connected.

I've been working hard to get to this point with my new machine and it's frustrating to get shut-down by what I'm sure will turn out to be a simple error.

Thanks,
Taylor

Taylor…
I’m wondering if your tool numbers are such that it thinks you’ll be cutting with the A axis at some point in the file… 1-19 reserved for Z Axis 20-29 for the A axis…
This is a wild guess and I’m not likely to try 3.8.3 anytime soon. Not broke so not fixing!

I've tried different files with the same results. I'm thinking is has to do with the fact that I had the Tech move the Indexer to channel "A" from "B" when the machine was first set-up. And some setting that he put in was over-written when I upgraded to 3.8.30. Problem is, I don't know how to put the indexer back on "B" to get around this problem. Tried moving the ribbon cable for the indexer controller to a different channel on the main board but that didn't appear to have an effect.

OK, so the issue was I had moved the Indexer from axis "B" to "A", which the software didn't like, because "A" is reserved for the second spindle "head", whether you have one or not. Thus, the "Unit values Z and A are not the same" message. Another thing that was causing me trouble was my Aspire Tool Database, which I have had for a few years and many tools in it, with ID numbers going beyond 19! I wasn't clear before on the Shopbot tool numbering system where 1 - 19 default to spindle #1, and 20 and above default to spindle #2 and other tool types! I've now started reorganizing my tool database to overcome this problem.
