I have been trying to create a hand carved look around some text on a sign, but the tool path always seems to cut into my raised text. Anyone had any experience doing this? I am sure it is a setting that I have overlooked.
I am using the basic partworks package that came with my Buddy.
Thanks

Herman,
Here is an answer from Tony (Vectric) to a similar question on the Vectric forum:
"VCarve Pro calculates the Texture toolpath based on the middle / tip of the cutter, so the texture will overcut in some places by up to the radius of the cutter.
To ensure the texture stays within a boundary the vectors need to be offset inwards by the radius of the cutter.
There's a very good How To Tutorial on the web site that explains this in more detail.
http://www.vectric.com/WebSite/Vectric/support/ht_texturing.htm
I hope this helps,
Tony"
Partworks and VCarvePro are essentially the same software, Partworks being specific for ShopBot. This should answer your question, but if it doesn't, let us know.
Edit: I can't get the link in Tony's answer to activate. You will have to copy it and paste in your browser.
