I am working on this table in between commission jobs, I have a few boards of spalted beech I milled a few years ago this design popped in my head over the weekend.

The mortise and tenon I cut on the Bot

Hope to get it finished by next week in between the other work.

Looks good. I like your leg designs. Live edge is my favorite.

Very nice and organic Brian!
It sweeps/flows really beautifully...Really reminds me of a whales tail on your feet(and half expect to see 2 heads rising from the slab:)
The live edge down adds to an almost arched shape visual. Long dowels look like they might have been a bear to clamp/drive? Got a pic of feet before assembly?(just wondering if any of that was shouldered). Love the grain orientation.
Going to be an absolutely unique piece for some collector:)
Congrats!

Thanks everyone, Scott I put pilot holes in the legs where the dowels will run applied epoxy to them and ran a screw in the top pilot hole to hold and ran a clamp across the bottom tips of the legs and let it setup overnight then take the screws out and drill for the dowels. I like the leg effect next time I may just shape the whole bottom assembly as a u and notch the pieces to fit and pin with the dowel, I had no real plan this one was a as you go project.

I'm almost inclined to look at this less as a bench and more as a work of art! Beautiful..

The bench/table is now being used as a pedestal for one of my carvings in an art gallery for the next month, I carved the squirrels when I first started chainsaw carving in 2007, One of the pieces I made that I still like.

Yes Scott those are more production pieces I make a lot of them they sell well but are not that inspiring to do. Still better than a real job.
