I was asked to help cut out a Multi Function Slab as found at http://www.multifunctionslab.com/ and was sent the DWG file. I can import it in, but it is way off scale, and I've played with adjusting it around some, but can't quite figure out how to get it the table to be 3x5 as the plans call for, as well as making sure the holes are correct size/position.

Anyone have any experience with these plans?

If you payed them for it just contact them and have them send the correct file.

does a dxf file work better ? I don't have Aspire but...

Can you not select all the linework and use the scale command to re-scale it to 36x60 ???

Did, they responded with "We only offer the file in .dwg or .dxf as I've been told that most CNC shops like to convert to what ever software format they use for their specific CNC machine and that there are many. I'm not a CNC guy so I'm sure you know better than I"

I do understand his point of view about many machines out there, was hoping he had an Aspire format file.

that's what I've been playing around with, hadn't been able to get it right, getting closer....

On a side note, this is supposed to be made out of 1" MDF, found a local supplier, but boy is that expensive. 2X the cost of 3/4 MDF.

Make sure you are importing in the correct units.

Daniel here is how i might do it......open up whatever cad program you use to make your files with first....
set your datum to the center of the material
Draw a box that is 3'x5', center it
import your dxf or dwg file you're having a problem with
hilite all the vectors in the file and hold your shift key down and drag the vectors to fit inside the 3'x5' box you created previously and all the holes and slots should enlarge equally to fit within that space.

thanks for all the help and advice, looks like I've got it squared away (for now that is :) )
