Hello, I have a PRSalpha , but I don't know what I use the chip load calculator .

For example I want cut 15mm mdf ( I speak millimeters , not pounds), and my tool diameter is 6.35 mm (1/8) with 2 fluts.

In this table https://www.vortextool.com/images/chipLoadChart.pdf
I take 0.013 for 1/8 tool diameter (6.35mm) and MDF.

I don't know what can I do in the chip load calculator , because I don't know how can I determinate the cutting speed for to have the speed of spindle , or the contrary .

Forget chipload calc for now. It is for factory production.

Use Move Speed @ 50, 25 mm/second for cutting and 13,000 RPM. (MS,50,25)

Use 5mm pass depth.

Try these speeds. Adjust as you see necessary. You may try MS,100,25 @ 15,000 RPM if design is very large (maybe 1 meter or larger)

-B

For your information: 1/8" = 1 ÷ 8 = 0.125"

Hagi.....6.35mm = 1/4 inch (0.25) not 1/8 inch......for your info

sorry i made a mistake .

the factory production what it means ? use it 4 hours per day or 8 hours per day ?
Sometimes the spindle stops , I think it's too hot .

Here are your main chipload forumlas for calculating chipload, feed and speed. As every machine is different you use these as a starting point then fine tune to suit your machine to get a workable chipload.

Chipload = feedrate / (rpm x # of cutting edges)
Feedrate (IPM) = rpm x # of cutting edges x chipload
Speed (rpm) = feedrate / (# of cutting edges x chip load)

Number of flutes on the bit.
