Perhaps I should post a website or two showing some of our fellow artists. Below is the website of Noella & Nancy who are great people and outstanding artist. Much of their work is created on a CNC. Noella spends lots of time blending those outstanding colors. One technique often used is to paint letters and decoration as separate pieces to be applied to panel
