View Full Version : Craft of Lettering
The craft workshops continues as Mike Meyers conducts classes in the states and around the world. Mike is a Wisconsin native where he keeps his shop. He is often featured in Sign Craft and Signs of the Times magazines. It's amazing to see how quick and easy he teaches the craft of lettering and layout. If there's a single feature of Mikes workshops is the lack of talking. It's a get it done experience. All Hands On with no BS. Lots of hard work and good company.
If you need a good holiday experience I'd suggest attending one of the workshops abroad. Ireland would be a good choice.

Joe,
Mike Meyer is an extraordinary talent to say the least. Not to mention, he's quite a character. I think it's great that he shares his art with whoever wants to learn from the master. If I was thinking about doing any hand lettering, I would travel great distances to attend one of Mike's "hands on" sessions.
He sent me a Facebook friend request earlier this year, and I must say he's one of my more interesting friends. I always look forward to his posts.
He's actually from Mazeppa, Minnesota though... not Wisconsin (but, close enough).
It's fun to see photos of his class attendees at work. You can see the improvement in their lettering as the day goes on.
We're pretty sure he is going to be doing a job just north of me sometime very soon. We're planning on getting together to say hi.
If any of you want to improve (or even learn from scratch) your lettering, you should look into Mike's events.
Eric,
Thanks for the post. Like you mentioned Mike is a hell of a character and the best free style lettering artists I've met. Don't know why I posted the wrong address. I've attended two of his workshops in Mazeppa. I'll dig up some of the photo's taken on his Mazeppa Musters. What a blast!
Joe
