Hello folks. Tonight I was running a job and my router hit my vac hose slightly. It was enough to throw off my X/Y. I moved the hose that fell and tried to restart the job. Now my software keeps saying "Use Arrow Keys to move off of Prox Switch" over and over. I move it then this message keeps coming back even though it's not close to the edge. Please help if anyone has any ideas. I've restarted, reloaded drivers, etc and it still keeps saying that. All wires look connected as before. I have a Shopbot D2418

Thanks! - Jerry

Depending on when you bought the machine, there may be a prox on the Z. If the tool is sitting on ANY prox, you will get that message.

It may be easiest to turn off the machine and manually move the Z down about 1/2" off the prox. Then try again.

Alot of times people think that if they reboot or turn the power off that might reset things but because the control box has memory in it sometimes that doesn't go away unless you go over to your power source, circuitbreaker and turn it off so that the memory gets shut down and released. That may not be your issue but doing this will make sure it isn't something stuck in the memory.

Make sure the white plastic on the prox hasn't been moved somehow. We've had 2 that the plastic slid along the metal until contact was lost. Just push it back into place.
Usually caused by Padauk dust getting getting gunked up in prox and letting it glide right by the prox.
Blow and clean prox out after disconnecting them also.
Probably not it, but
Just thinking.
