In order to keep an exterior PVC cabinet from coming apart it will need plenty of air movement. This material moves around more than most but that's no problem if you know the rules. First rule is to allow it expand and contract by not combining it with other materials.

One nice looking fixture are the aluminum air vents found at most lumber yards. I used a 2" coring but for these. Four of them was installed on the under side.

Mighty fine idea Joe! That answers a concern that I was having regarding sealing up PVC too tight!

Chris,

This example is the bare minimum for venting. If you have the time, make a small, little box, with no venting. It will end up blowing up. Black paint will speed up the process.

On most of my PVC signs I leave a large portion of the bottom area's open.
