Hey guys, I have a new PRS with a Yakisawa 1000 VFD. If I run the spindle at 12000 RPM instead of 12008 RPM, it drops out with LF error on VFD. Does same thing if I run at 10K, 15K, 18K. But does not drop out if I enter 10008, 15008, or 18008. What is going on?????
This became apparent when I would try the C3, spindle warm up command. I finally got smart and changed the custom program so that it added the 8 RPM to the three speeds called for in the warm up cycle.
Can anyone tell me what is going on here????
Thanks in advance and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

The only experience I have is using a particular post processor in aspire, the control software RPM showed 9007, 10007, 13007, etc when I programmed the exact numbers without the "7"
It did it automatically and was never an issue but I did notice it. Using a different PP cleared up the anomaly for me. Sorry I can't remember which one and am out of town for the turkey. I'm guessing we have he same VFD if you have the 4 hp spindle. Mine is single phase. Hope that helps.

I have run cut files and forgot to close the Spindle control window. I use VCP V7 and it sets the spindle to exactly the speed you set. With the spindle control window open, the SBP program changes the spindle speed to exactly what was entered into the tool data base or whatever you set for that tool path. If it goes to 12000 instead of 12008, the spindle shuts down after a couple minutes of cutting. In itself, that wouldn't be terrible, but the extra weight of the drill assembly makes the z axis drop when the z stepper motor releases. When this LF error comes up, the spindle slows to a stop and the z car drops sending the cutting bit further into the material and even spoil board.

If you Google Yaskawa V1000 manual you get a PDF
Contents have a section that explains Fault Errors
Here is a clip for the "LF" Fault
