I keep getting inconsistent results when I do my signs with raised type in the cleared pocket areas, as you can see on the attached there are areas where it continues in a straight line and then comes down at a different height. Also the last pass of the cleared areas around the type almost always is lower that the rest which really makes it difficult to even sand it out that close to the other type.
This sign as most of the plaques I do for addresses are about 12" x 10", cut out of 31# Corafoam, I apply what has been termed Luminore, then patina and polish. These inconsistencies show up on the final piece and I am now trying to pocket the type which on smaller signs goes into even more time.
Am I expecting too much of my equipment or possibly do the pinions need to be replaced...if so where can I find?
All help appreciated,
