1.5" 15lb HDU, 3/8" Onrud ball nose, nothing strange was happening. I rout this wood grain regularly without problem. Move xy is 4.0, z is 2.0. Jog xy is 4.0, z is 2.0. Columbo 5hp spindle, 12,000 rpm (no strain) .75 avg depth.
I was at my desk and an unusual sound came from the shopbot, discovered that the move ips was at around .5 ips. file was still looking good, just running real slow.
I'll do a restart and see what happens.
Any thoughts??

This 'slow down' is a known reoccurring issue with SB3 v3.8.XX. I get it often with 3D files. Running the latest version SB3 v3.8.40 helps, but I still see it. What you need to do, is just pause and then resume and it will resume at normal feedrate.

Also, send SBHQ a report on it. I sent another one last week for this.

Just describe your issue and include the version of SB3 you are running (Help/About) and send it to support at shopbottools dot com.
